Alkionides UK expanded to Birmingham and the Midlands in 2014 to provide dedicated support for individuals undergoing specialist medical treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and other regional facilities. Our committed team, together with local community members, offers practical help such as moral support, transport, translation, and fundraising to assist with accommodation and essential needs.

In 2019, with the generous support of the Keith Coombs Trust, our Birmingham & Midlands team launched a new programme for children with special educational needs and their families. This initiative provides outings, inclusive activities, and opportunities that many of these families would not normally be able to access. Through these events, families connect, share experiences, and offer one another valuable mutual support.

Our goal in the Midlands remains the same as across all Alkionides UK projects: to bring comfort, dignity, and community to those facing challenging circumstances.
